Together with eTcl in the browser, we're delighted to welcome ePython to the family. It's a full CPython 3.15, running alongside eTcl (Tcl/Tk 9.1) in EvoPulse Desktop — no install, just open the desktop and say hello. And yes, tkinter came along too. Python's classic GUI toolkit finally gets to play with its Tcl/Tk relatives, right where it belongs. Try the Tk and tkinter demos, or drop in your own app and see how they get along.

Together with eTcl 2.0 coming back to life on all the legacy platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS), we are thrilled to announce the addition of WebAssembly (aka Wasm) to the list of supported target platforms. This is a fully-featured version of the same battery included distributions of eTcl for the usual native platforms. This includes not only Tcl, but also Tk and all the extensions you may rely on (mtls, tclxml, tdom, tktable, treectrl and many more).

eTcl is returning. Version 2.0 aims at providing a modernized version of the cross-platform runtime engine. Beside being based on latest 9.0 version of Tcl and Tk core, and up to date modules (Tls, Thread, sqlite, etc.), eTcl comes with

• an improved version of Pixane, and its 'vision' module for inference of computer vision models (supporting both EvoMind and Tensorflow Lite models)
• a Javascript engine based on QuickJS
• a WebAssembly interpreter
• EvoGPU, a cross-platform GUI framework
• a modern console window

Another release of eTcl, the universal, install-free Tcl runtime engine, is available for download. Version 1.0.1 updates Tcl/Tk core to 8.5.6 and sqlite to 3.6.7. An argument parsing issue, which could cause version 1.0.0 to fail launching eTcl kits (.etk files) from command line or double-click, has been fixed. Binaries are provided for Mac OS X, Win32, Windows Mobile and several Linux architectures including x86, x86_64, mipsel, powerpc, arm and now also arm-eabi, which allows installation as native application on Android platform.

After two years of development and code stabilization, and a long release candidates period, Evolane is pround to announce eTcl 1.0.0, the first official release of its cross-platform Tcl/Tk runtime engine. This release has been made possible thanks to feedbacks and comments from large community of users, all of them contributing in making eTcl a robust, innovative and widely used distribution. From last release candidate, minor bugs have been fixed (a race condition in Win32/WinCE driver of Evodio sound package has been fixed, and GPS access in wce packages has been consolidated). Binaries for Mac OS X, Win32, Windows Mobile and Linux (x86, x86_64, arm, mipsel and powerpc) are all freely available to be put under your Christmas tree. Enjoy!
